The Temple That Saved Me - Thekchen Choling (大乘禅寺)

Founded by Singapore-born Lama Thubten Namdrol Dorje in 2001, Thekchen Choling Singapore is a Tibetan Buddhist Temple that encompasses both the Tibetan & Chinese tradition. The temple conducts regular weekly teachings in English and Mandarin, chanting and prayer sessions. In order to realize one of the temple's objectives to be an easily accessible place of refuge at all times of the day, Thekchen Choling is the first Tibetan Buddhist temple in Singapore to open 24 hours daily.

The main hall is available to all who seek a place of quiet, for prayers, for meditation at any time of the day. As a healing temple, Thekchen Choling also provides free TCM medical consulting service, acupuncture service and medicine two times a week in the temple. The temple's social outreach program includes free medicine distribution, free meals and finance support, with emphasis for the poor and elderly.
Some of the highlights of Thekchen Choling Singapore are: -
One of the biggest Mantra Wheel in Singapore, with most mantras filled (213 million mantras).
One of the most unique lifesize Shakyamuni Buddha statue in Singapore, it is adorned with jewel ornaments as per the original traditions in Tibet and Nepal.
The Special Thousand arm chenrizig(GuanYin) carved in Tibetan style is one of the biggest in Singapore.
One of the biggest Guru Rinpoche(manifestation of Shakya Muni buddha) & Green Mother Tara statue in Singapore.
